This page explains what information FixYourVPN collects when you use the site, what we do with it, and what rights you have.
Who we are
FixYourVPN is an independently run site based in the UK. We are the organisation responsible for any personal data collected through this site.
Information we collect
When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. We use this data only to respond to your message. We keep contact form data for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry and then delete it.
We do not use tracking cookies or analytics beyond basic server logs. Server logs record standard request information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps) and are retained for a limited period before being deleted automatically. Server logs help us keep the site secure and working correctly.
How we use your information
Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not share your information with third parties or use it for marketing purposes. If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and anyone affected, as required by UK law.
IP address checker tool
Our IP address checker tool looks up your current IP address to show you your country and internet provider. When you use this tool, your IP address is sent to ip-api.com (a third-party geolocation service) for this lookup. We do not store your IP address or the results of the lookup. Please refer to ip-api.com's privacy policy for details of how they handle IP addresses.
Country flags shown alongside your result are rendered using Unicode emoji. No image is fetched from any external server for this purpose.
Third-party services
Service logos. When viewing guide listings and search results on this site, service logos are loaded from Google's favicon service (www.google.com/s2/favicons). This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which may record your IP address. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for details.
Security challenge (Cloudflare Turnstile). The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, an automated spam-prevention service. When you visit the contact page, Turnstile loads resources from challenges.cloudflare.com, which may set a short-lived security cookie and send your IP address to Cloudflare's servers as part of the challenge process. This data is used by Cloudflare to distinguish human users from automated bots. Please refer to Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Fonts. Fonts used on this site are self-hosted and served directly from FixYourVPN's servers. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any other external font service when you visit this site.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie this site may set is a short-lived security cookie placed by Cloudflare Turnstile on the contact page, used solely to verify the spam-prevention challenge. No cookies are used to track your browsing or serve advertising.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to restrict or object to how we process it. To make a request, use the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this policy, the updated version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date at the top. We will not notify you of minor wording updates, but any changes that affect how your data is used will be reflected here promptly.
